MATTHEW: STRUCTURE

The Literary Structure of Matthew alternates between Six Blocks of Narrative Material followed by a Five Block of Sayings or Discourse 
     Material
and then by a Five Formula.
Note that Kingsbury has a Topical Outline or Structure built around Matt 4:17 and Matt 16:21.
  We are better served to see
     Kingsbury's structure as an outline of Jesus' Ministry rather than an outline for Matthew's Gospel.

We will adopt the Narrative/Sayings/Formula structure outlined below in our textual study of the Gospel of Matthew, but will be 
      sensitive to Kingsbury's outline.
