Women in Islam

Islamic nations differ somewhat in their view of women, but the modernization of Muslim culture has led to major "revolutions" both theologically and politically in many nations.
Turkey, Pakistan, and a few other Muslim nations are more moderate in this regard.
An example of the more radical and fundamentalist approach to Islam would be Iraan, Iraq, Afghanistan (The Taliban), and even Saudi Arabia.

I most Muslim nations women are treated as secondary persons and are are not considered important in Islamic views of society.
The are persons whose purpose is to serve men.
The Quran instructs women to be veiled at all times in public (Quran 33:59).
Women are to remain segregated from men in public.

Women are temptresses who seduce men through sexual temptations.
The Muslim view is that most women will end up in hell.
Those who get to heaven will be there for the benefit of men.

To divorce a wife a man simply has to say three time "I divorce you" and the divorce is final.
Women may not divorce men.

The testimony of a woman in legal matters is worth only half that of a man.

Women may attend the Mosque services, but may not take part in the prayers in the main Mosque assembly.
If present in the Mosque they should be in a side vestibule.
